Tomorrow Never Dies

Ericsson Stunt Phones

Below are two of the stunt Ericsson phones used by Pierce Brosnan for scenes when James Bond escaped from Elliot Carver’s (Jonathan Pryce) headquarters and utilized his remote control BMW 750i car to evade Carver’s guards.  These are non-working versions of the phone, which were used for long-distance shots or sequences in which only the back of the phone could be seen in Bond’s hands. Only 12 of these stunt phones were created for the production, and I have two of them.  Each is made from resin with a hinge enabling it to open, revealing the keys, touchpad and screen inside. All of the buttons of the phones are static and cannot be depressed. The phones are finished in silver and black, and the lights and buttons are finished to look like a real Ericsson device.

In the two top photos (phone number 1), both the external and internal screens are blank. The phone is presented in its original production plastic hard case, which is lined in blue material.  With some minor marks from use on set, the phone remains in very good condition.  I also have a letter from Ericsson confirming the authenticity of the prop.

In the two bottom photos (phone number 2), that prop has a front screen with a static display mimicking a real phone, and the inside screen has a display depicting the car's view of the attackers which was added when on display at the 'Bond In Motion' exhibition at Beaulieu Motor Museum.  With some minor marks from use on set, the phone remains in very good condition and is presented on a custom-made display stand.

A fan-made replica of the Ericsson stunt phone.  Its size is incorrect, and is not as visually appealing as the real stunt phones.

Pierce Brosnan first switched from his Walther PPK to his new Walther P99 in Tomorrow Never Dies.  Above is my replica gun, a gas-powered pellet pistol.

A copy of the screenplay for Tomorrow Never Dies bearing the signatures of Pierce Brosnan, Teri Hatcher, Judi Dench, Jonathan Pryce and Desmond Llewelyn.  The script came with a Certificate of Authenticity from the seller, but no back-up evidence of authenticity has been received.  I have made no attempt to have any of the signatures authenticated.
