The Man With the Golden Gun

Picture
Factory Entertainment.  Number 16 of 400.  Name plate is signed by Roger Moore and Christopher Lee.
Picture
SD Studios, number 342 of 7500.  I believe this is a late Generation 1 model from SD Studios.  I have the original instructions that came with the replica.

The Carved Elephant Statue

Picture
Picture
It is an iconic scene from TMWTGG.  James Bond, in a small power boat, is being chased by the bad guys through the canals surrounding Bangkok.  Up ahead, a young boy hawks a carved statue of an elephant to a boat full of tourists.  Eighty baht, 60 baht, then 40 baht, the boy tries to entice a sale.  As Bond approaches the tourist boat, his boat develops engine trouble and slows substantially.  Elephant Boy gives up on making a sale to anyone on the tourist boat and climbs into Bond's boat.  The boy resumes his sales pitch - 60 baht, 40 baht, then 20 baht.  Getting desperate, Bond offers the boy 20,000 baht if he can make Bond's boat go any faster. The boy performs a simple fix and asks for his payment.  Bond shoves the boy overboard, tells him that he'll have to owe it to him, and the boat chase resumes.

What is shown here is a vintage hand-carved elephant statue from Thailand, dating from the approximate time of filming TMWTGG.  My statue is not a modern reproduction.  As both my statue and the statue used in the movie were hand-carved, each is unique; but my elephant statue looks to be substantially the same as the statue held by Elephant Boy in the movie.

Sayan Jantanarat was the child who portrayed the Elephant Boy.  In celebration of the 50th anniversary of the release of TMWTGG, Sayan (pictured above) double signed my carved elephant, once in black ink and once in golden ink.  My vintage carved elephant statue is Number 1 of only 5 signed by Sayan and packaged for the movie's 50th anniversary at that time.

Nick Nack's Face Mask

Picture
This is a fantastic screen-accurate replica of the face mask worn by actor Hervé Villechaize as Nick Nack.  It is evening, and Bond is walking through a lush garden filled with statuary and topiaries, on his way to a meeting with Hai Fat.  One statue is really Nick Nack, wearing the original of this mask, who comes to life with other statues to attack Bond.

Picture
To the left is an excellent reproduction prop of the knife used by Nick Nack in the final fight with James Bond on the junk.  He famously carried the knife in his mouth.  This prop was made by Ed Maggiani and Steve Poole, and was a gift to me from Steve Poole.

A replica of the Solex Agitator.

Replicas of the rings worn by Scaramanga.

Above left is Sir Christopher Lee's personally-annotated First Draft Screenplay of The Man With The Golden Gun, dated January 7, 1974.  The cover page has been autographed by Lee, and the script contains numerous handwritten notes by Lee, including notes to change some of Scaramanga's dialogue.  Above right is a 12-page shooting schedule for TMWTGG given to Lee.  The above items were purchased by me from an auction house that obtained the items from Lee's personal collection.

Picture
Replica poster detailing the parts of the golden gun, and the film's release at Christmas 1974.

Picture
A vial containing sand and water from James Bond Beach on Scaramanga's Island in Thailand, a gift from a fellow collector.  This will probably be as close as I come to this beach.

Picture
A fan-made version of the Nick Nack mask that is wearable!  Though not screen-accurate, it will be acceptable to the casual James Bond fan.
