I am not sure where this 007 James Bond 45 came from.  Side A is a 'A Message From Bond' given in code and which utilizes information on the back of the record sleeve to decode the message, and Side B is entitled 'James Bond Themes' and features musical cues from Octopussy.

Record Store Day 2021 45 record, with the James Bond Theme on the A side, and the Goldfinger theme on the B side.  A limited edition release, mine is number 1144 of 2007.

Two That Would Have Been Hit Theme Songs...

Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang - This song was never a track on any record or CD released by Dionne Warwick.  Originally slated to be the theme song for Thunderball, Harry Saltzman nixed it at the last moment reportedly because it did not have the movie title in the lyrics.  Cue Tom Jones.  Sorry, Harry, you were flat out wrong on this.  The evidence is that the song was used in scoring the film, and the Thunderball soundtrack is one of the best of the series.  What might have been...

No Good About Goodbye - This haunting song was written, I believe, as an audition to be selected as the theme song artist for Quantum Of Solace.  Even if that was not the case, this song would have been, in my opinion, a far better selection and would have given Shirley Bassey four Bond theme songs to her credit.  She still has the pipes for doing the grand songs, and this would have been a grand moment if she had been given the opportunity.

...And One That Does Not Quite Measure Up.

License To Kill - What sounded like a promising pairing never lived up to expectations for the concept.  Bringing together guitar maestro Eric Clapton with the legendary Vic Flick, this demo for the LTK theme never quite produces the energy needed for a successful theme song, and the collaboration was dropped.  The demo disappeared for decades, only for a copy to re-surface in 2021.  Despite its flaws, the demo is interesting for bringing together these two guitar greats.

The Best of James Bond 30th Anniversary CD was a 2-disc set with many wonderful entries.  Disc 1 had the official movie theme songs in order, from Dr. No through License To Kill.  Disc 2 contained cuts from the soundtrack albums for Goldfinger and Thunderball, a couple of radio spots, versions of the 'James Bond Theme' and the '007 Theme' (true Bond fans can tell you the difference and the background story behind them), and a couple of real gems: 'Mr. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang' sung by Dionne Warwick, and 'We Have All The Time In The World' performed by Louis Armstrong.  The Best of Bond, James Bond CD was released to celebrate the film franchise's 40th anniversary, and the single disc CD is rather disappointing.  It provides all of the official theme songs through The World Is Not Enough and throws in 'The James Bond Theme' from Tomorrow Never Dies and Goldeneye.
