Goldeneye

Goldeneye Pinball Machine

Picture
Sega released the Goldeneye pinball game in 1996, one year after the release of the Bond movie on which it is based.  The machine has brilliant graphics on both the playing surface and the backboard including all of the major, and many of the minor, characters from the movie.  It also has a tank and a satellite dish.  Game play for this machine is generally rated above-average by most player ratings groups.  The game benefits from its licensing agreement, using the voices of the actors in clips from the film.  Below is an original two-sided promotional flyer from Sega which was handed out in 1996.  The game has a fun ending - in the score/message area at the bottom of the backboard, James Bond walks out and shoots the letters in 'Goldeneye', converting it to read 'Game Over' while the James Bond theme plays.  This is a very fun toy to play with over and over.  And when you own the machine, you can set it to be very player-friendly!

Factory Entertainment produced this replica of the Goldeneye lens and the two activation keys.  It is one of only two James Bond props from Factory Entertainment to be battery-powered.  The lens lights up when a side-bar switch is activated.  My piece is number 047 of 500 produced.  This is a very visually satisfying collectible.

This is a non-working fan-made replica of the piton gun and laser attachment, used by James Bond when he performed the bungee jump from Contra Dam in Ticino, Switzerland in the pre-title sequence for Goldeneye.

This is a non-working fan-made replica of the Pysis night vision monocular used by James Bond in Monaco to spy upon Xenia Onatopp.  The case was not seen in the movie.  This piece is number 6 out of 10 made.

Replicas of the Access Code Cards used to access the computer and satellite facility in Severnaya.

A copy of a script for Goldeneye, bearing the signatures of Pierce Brosnan, Judi Dench, Desmond Llewelyn, Famke Janssen, Sean Bean, Robbie Coltrane, and Izabella Scorupco.  The script came with a Certificate of Authenticity from the seller, but no back-up evidence of authenticity has been received.  I have made no attempt to have any of the signatures authenticated.

An original souvenir program which was handed out at one of the Regional Charity Premieres of Goldeneye.

A visitor's brochure from my visit to Arecibo Observatory in Puerto Rico.  The real-life satellite dish there was used in filming the dramatic conclusion to the battle between 006 and 007.  Due to the failure of two support cables in 2020, the dish was irreparably damaged and has been demolished.  The Visitors Center had a short film about the filming for Goldeneye that took place at Arecibo.
