Dolls and Figures

SIDESHOW 12" FIGURES
Sideshow eventually made 23 of these figures.  I have collected 14 of them, and I am happy with the ones I have, but I'm not very interested in adding the remaining figures.  For some reason, I am just not interested in having a complete set.

A rare Gilbert store counter display stand for its set of three blister packs, each containing two toys: (1) Dr. No's Dragon Tank and Largo's Hydrofoil Yacht, (2) Spin-Top Pool Table and Deadly Laser Ray, and (3) Secret Agent Gun Case and Bullet Shield for M's Desk.  The condition of my blister packs run from poor to average.  The top of the display holds an advertising card printed with the likeness of Sean Connery.

A rare Gilbert store counter display stand for its set of 10 blister packs, each containing one hand-painted figure: (1) James Bond With Deadly Barretta Pistol, (2) James Bond With Hi-Power Scope Rifle, (3) James Bond In Scuba Outfit With Spear Gun, (4) Oddjob, (5) M, (6) Goldfinger, (7) Moneypenny, (8) Largo, (9) Domino, and (10) Dr. No.  The condition of my blister packs run from fair to average.  Some of the cards still have their original price tags on them - 29 cents and 49 cents!  The top of the display holds an advertising card printed with the likeness of Sean Connery.  The picture at the right shows that some packs came with the incorrect figure inserted - I have two 'Moneypenny' packs with the 'Goldfinger' figure inserted.

The Gilbert Action Toys and Movie Characters were also combined in different packaging combinations.  There were a total of 5 Action Toy Sets, and I have collected all but number 2 of that series.  There is also a package displaying all 10 of the figurines.  I also have dozens of the loose movie character figures, and perhaps 15 of the unpackaged Dragon Tanks.

From Gilbert in 1965, at left I have the James Bond 007 Action Figure vinyl portrait doll modelled after Sean Connery as Agent 007.  The original box and original illustrated instruction sheet are in very good condition.  Included with this box are Bond's white shirt, red trunks, red flippers, yellow scuba tanks and mouthpiece, black mask, knife, spear gun marked '007', underwater tow, 3 spears, and pistol with pistol clip/adaptor in a packet.  At right, other accessories were available and while most were sold on cards, mine are shown loose.  I have an original Accessory Instruction sheet (in very good condition) that covered Gilbert accessories for 'The Man From U.N.C.L.E.', 'Honey West' and ' Moon McDare' in addition to Bond, as well as the blue scuba tanks with mouthpiece, spear gun and 3 spears, fake duck head cover, underwater tow, jet backpack, and black tuxedo.  I do not have the complete range of accessories that were made available from Gilbert.

From Gilbert in 1965, I have the James Bond 007 Action Figure vinyl portrait doll modelled after Harold Sakata as Odd Job.  The original box is in fair condition, with some water damage, small tears, and a hole, and the original instruction sheet has water damage.  The Odd Job figure is dressed in a white karate/judo outfit with a black belt, and the steel-rimmed bowler hat.  The figure's right hand can hold the bowler hat, and 'throw' it when the arm is pulled back and released.  The figure's left arm goes up and down, using spring action to simulate a karate chop.  There are additional accessories available for this figure that I do not have.
